Small pirate glass pendant, historic seaglass necklace, with wood and carnelian beads FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE
Some people have requested smaller pieces of pirate glass as pendants, because not everyone wants to wear a giant chunky piece!
I really love this piece of pirate glass as it has a couple of good clear bubbles in it. Bubbles are characteristic of very old hand blown glass.
Small pirate glass pendant, very old sea glass necklace in macrame net threaded onto an adjustable length woven cotton cord with wood, carnelian and coconut shell beads. Please see the second picture to see the glass with a light shining through it. The piece of pirate glass is seven eighths of an inch long.
Pirate glass is seaglass which is many hundreds of years old and has slowly been worn into pleasingly smooth shapes by the sea. It appears black until you shine a bright light through it (the torch on a phone is best, as it is small and incredibly bright). It washes up around the very old shipping routes and is hard to find as on the beach it looks like a pebble. It takes a while to learn to spot it, but once you get your eye in you can find two or three pieces in one trip, if you know the right spots to look! I collect my pirate glass along the south coast of the Isle of Wight. It is time consuming, but a real thrill every time I find a piece.
I have turned this piece of pirate glass into a macrame pendant, netting it in a similar way to an old glass fishing bouy, and threaded it with a selection of beads selected to really set it off.
This necklace is one of a kind and you will always be sent the one in the current pictures. All items come with free shipping unless specifically stated otherwise and are shipped in one to three business days using Royal Mail.
Thank you for looking. Peace.
