I found two pieces of pirate glass that were almost exactly the same shape. I thought they should stay together so I made them into a pair of best friends or couples necklaces. They are netted ina a micro macrame setting and threaded onto an adjustable length woven cotton cord with little tiger eye and ebony wood beads. The slightly larger piece of pirate glass is just under one and a half inches long. Please see the second and third pictures for the glass with light shining through it.

Pirate glass is seaglass which is many hundreds of years old and has slowly been worn into pleasingly smooth shapes by the sea. It appears black until you shine a bright light through it (the torch on a phone is best, as it is small and incredibly bright). It is hard to find as on the beach it looks like a pebble. It takes a while to learn to spot it, but once you get your eye in you can find two or three pieces in one trip, if you know the right spots to look! I collect my pirate glass along the south coast of the Isle of Wight. It is time consuming, but a real thrill every time I find a piece.

I have turned each piece of pirate glass into a macrame pendant, netting it in a similar way to an old glass fishing bouy, and threaded it with a collection of beads selected to really set it off.

This necklaces are one of a kind and you will always be sent the ones in the current pictures. All items come with free shipping unless specifically stated otherwise and are shipped in one to three business days using Royal Mail.

Thank you for looking. Peace.
